Clinical data refers to health-related or medical information that is collected by a clinician during patient care or by a clinical researcher during the course of a clinical study. A person’s electronic medical record (EMR) is a good source of clinical data. Clinical data may include a person’s diagnosis and the tests used to determine the diagnosis, exhibited signs and symptoms of the disease, response to treatment and therapies, laboratory tests, image reports, hospitalization, and more.
