Fibroblast

A fibroblast is a connective tissue cells which secretes an extracellular matrix rich in collagen and other macromolecules. As immature cells, fibroblasts can differentiate into other connective tissue cells, such as chondroblasts and osteoblasts.

Human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) can be converted into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) to serve as disease models.
